Winger returns to Quad City

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Saturday that the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs have released Mickey Lang from his PTO.

Lang, 26, made his AHL debut on Friday with Rockford in the IceHogs 2-1 loss to the Chicago Wolves. Friday’s game marked the 100th career professional contest for the Hillside, New Jersey native.

The winger will return to the Central Hockey League’s Quad City Mallards where he has skated in 38 games this season, notching 22g-25a-47pts.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Feb. 9 vs. Houston Aeros. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. The first 2,000 fans to the game will pick up a Colin Fraser Bobblehands figurine courtesy of Gatorade, recognizing the first former IceHogs skater to win two Stanley Cups.
