ICEHOGS RECALL JARDINE, FOURNIER AND WALTERS SENT TO ECHL
Rockford, Ill. – The Chicago Blackhawks announced Monday they have assigned defenseman Dillon Fournier from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs to the ECHL’s Indy Fuel. Additionally, the IceHogs have recalled defenseman Sam Jardine from Indy, and loaned forward Dane Walters to the Toledo Walleye (ECHL).
Jardine, 22, recorded his first career professional point with an assist in his debut with Indy on Oct. 16 against Toledo. The rookie d-man has appeared in two games thus far with the Fuel.
Prior to turning pro, Jardine spent his last three seasons with Ohio State University. The Lacombe, Alberta native skated in 97 games with the Buckeyes, recording a total of 32 points (3g-29a).
Fournier, 21, has been held off the score sheet in two games with the IceHogs this season. A season ago, Fournier registered three assists in 21 contests with Rockford and seven points (2g-5a) in 34 games with Indy.
Walters, 26, made his season debut for the IceHogs on Sunday against the Texas Stars. Last season, Walters recorded one goal and five assists in 19 games with Rockford. Prior to joining the IceHogs in 2014-15, the St. Paul, Minn. native tallied 17 points (9g-8a) in 27 games with the Walleye.
Next Home Game: Wednesday, Oct. 21 vs. Iowa Wild. Game starts at 7 p.m. The IceHogs welcome the Wild to Rockford for the first time this season. It’s also the first “Winning Weekday” promotion of the season. Every time the IceHogs win at home on a weekday, each fan in attendance will receive a free ticket to the next weekday game.
