ICEHOGS RECALL CIAMPINI FROM INDY
Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the 2015 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, announced that they have recalled forward Daniel Ciampini from the Indy Fuel (ECHL).
Ciampini, 25, has notched seven points (2g-5a) in 11 games for the Fuel this season.
The Concord, Ont. native played in 15 games for the AHL’s Worcester Sharks in 2014-15 upon completing his senior season at Union College. While with the Sharks, he had three goals and three helpers (6 points).
In 2014, his junior season, Ciampini tallied one goal and one assist in the Dutchmen’s 7-4 win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers to win their first NCAA National Championship. After the championship game, Ciampini was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Throughout his four-year career at Union, Ciampini played in 131 games, recording 118 points (63g-55a) and 86 penalty minutes.
On July 8, 2015, Ciampini signed a one-year AHL contract with the IceHogs.
Next Home Game: Sunday, Nov. 22 vs. Lake Erie at 4 p.m. The IceHogs face Lake Erie for the first time all season on Stanley Cup Night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Rockford will celebrate its alumni and the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks by displaying the Cup for fans in attendance. Hub Printing will give away 2,500 posters celebrating the Blackhawks championships.
