
ICEHOGS RE-SIGN CARLSSON, ADD MOSEY

Rockford, Ill- The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs, and proud affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, announced Monday that the club has re-signed defenseman Jonathan Carlsson to a one-year AHL contract for the 2016-17 season. Additionally, the IceHogs have agreed to terms with forward Evan Mosey on a one-year AHL contract.
Carlsson, 27, recorded nine points (2g-7a) in 25 games during his second stint in Rockford. He also notched one goal in two Calder Cup Playoff appearances last season. Prior to joining the IceHogs during the 2015-16 campaign, the native of Uppsala, Sweden registered a goal and four assists in 46 contests with the Evansville IceMen of the ECHL.
Carlsson was drafted by the Blackhawks in the sixth round (#162 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. The 27 year-old made his AHL debut with the IceHogs during the 2009-10 season where he split time between Rockford and the Toledo Walleye (ECHL). In 19 games with the IceHogs, Carlsson tallied a goal and eight penalty minutes. He also notched 10 points (4g-6a) in 27 tilts with the Walleye in 2009-10.
Mosey, 27, recently completed his second season with the Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL where he compiled 17 goals and 31 assists in 63 games. His 48 points ranked tied for third best on the team with former IceHog Andy Bohmbach.
Prior to turning pro, the Downers Grove, Ill. native spent four seasons at Minnesota State University – Mankato. Mosey racked up 30 points in 108 games over his four year career with the Mavericks.
