IceHogs Outmanned by Stars 6-1 in Penultimate Game

Cedar Park, TX - The Rockford IceHogs couldn't keep up with the Texas Stars on Friday night, falling 6-1 inside the H-E-B Center.
The Stars capitalized at 7:27 of the 1st period with a milestone goal for rookie Ellis Rickwood who scored in his first pro goal in his Texas debut.
The home side doubled the advantage 2-0 with two minutes to go in the opening frame when Trey Taylor beat Drew Commesso with a backhand.
Early in the 2nd period, Stars' defenseman Michael Karow found daylight at the near dot and blasted a slap shop into the top right corner.
Texas continued to pile on the pressure and built the lead to 4-0 when Rickwood collected in his second goal of the night on a partial breakaway. Cameron Hughes ballooned the advantage to 5-0 with Cameron Hughes turning out in front of the net and snapping his wrister home under the bar.
The IceHogs got on the board at 1:10 of the 3rd to cut the deficit to 5-1. Brett Seney guided in Rem Pitlick's net-front pass for his 17th of the year. Matthew Seminoff punched right back for Texas with a finish just outside of the crease.
Up next, the IceHogs conclude the regular season and their road trip against the Stars on Saturday, April 18. The puck drops at the H-E-B Center at 7:00 p.m. CT.
