Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs host the Milwaukee Admirals at the BMO Harris Bank Center in the teams’ first matchup of the 2017-18 preseason.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m. and fans can attend the game free of charge with seating available as general admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open for the contest at 6 p.m.
Thursday marks the first chance for fans to see the 2017-18 IceHogs in action. The team is led by new Head Coach, Jeremy Colliton, and features the return of last season’s points leader, Kyle Baun, and the 2016-17 Rookie of the Year, Luke Johnson.
Matchup: The IceHogs and Admirals square off tonight after Milwaukee claimed the 2016-17 season series with a record of 8-2-1-1. Despite the overall outcome, six of the seven games on Rockford’s home ice were decided by a lone goal.
Among the new players expected to take the ice tonight against Miwaukee is defenseman Darren Raddysh. The blueliner joins Rockford following a standout campaign with the Erie Otters in which he was named the OHL's Defenseman of the Year. Raddysh concluded the 2016-17 season with 81 points in 62 games for the Otters.
Overall, the Hogs finished with a record of 25-39-9-3 and 62 points in 2016-17, while the Admirals went 43-26-4-3 with 93 points.
