ICEHOGS, MOUTREY AGREE TO TERMS ON PTO
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs today announced they have agreed to terms with forward Nick Moutrey on an extension to his Professional Tryout (PTO) Agreement.
Moutrey, 23, originally signed a PTO with Rockford on Nov. 12 and has since picked up one assist, 12 penalty minutes and 30 shots on goal in 25 games with the IceHogs. The 6-3, 207-lbs forward made his season debut on Nov. 14 at Grand Rapids and tallied his assist on Dec. 7 vs. Grand Rapids.
The Shelburne, Ontario native has also skated in 12 ECHL games with Manchester this season, posting a point- per-game average with four goals and eight assists. Before signing with the IceHogs in November, he led the Monarchs in both points and assists, while also posting four multi-point efforts.
Moutrey has skated in the AHL for each of the last three seasons, logging a combined 39 points (19g, 20a) and 103 penalty minutes in 152 games. He made his AHL debut with the Lake Erie/Cleveland Monsters during the 2015-16 campaign and won Calder Cup that postseason after appearing in two playoff games. Moutrey then posted a career-high 17 points (8g, 8a) and 42 PIMs in 61 games with Cleveland during the 2016-17 campaign. Last year, the forward split the season between the Monsters and Belleville and collected five goals and six assists in 38 AHL contests.
