IceHogs Loan Aubrun to Indy; Sign Defenseman Cliff Watson to PTO

ROCKFORD, IL – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, announced today that they have loaned goaltender Tom Aubrun to the Indy Fuel of the ECHL. The IceHogs also signed defenseman Cliff Watson to a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Aubrun, 25, appeared in one contest with the IceHogs this season, making 17 saves in relief on Mar. 3 vs. Grand Rapids. In three appearances with the Fuel earlier this season, the Chamonix, France, native is 2-1-0 with a 3.92 goals-against average and .870 save percentage.

Watson, 27, currently serves as the Captain of the Fuel and has 11 assists in 21 games with the club this season. Last season, the Appleton, Wisconsin, product split time between the Fuel and Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL), totaling 31 points (five goals, 26 assists) in 53 games. Over his four-year career, Watson has seen AHL action with Chicago, Ontario, Unica, Hershey, Stockton, and San Jose adding seven points (two goals, five assists) in 37 games.

The IceHogs close their four-game homestand on Thursday, Mar. 11 against the Grand Rapids Griffins at 6:00 p.m. at BMO Harris Bank Center.
