ICEHOGS JOIN THE AUTISM PROGRAM IN HOSTING 16TH ANNUAL JERSEY AUCTION
Rockford will take on Texas Stars on March 22 for Annual Jersey Auction Night at the BMO
Rockford, Ill. - The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs announced on Tuesday that they have teamed up with The Autism Program for their 16th Annual Jersey Auction game. The special event will take place on Sunday, March 22 at 4 p.m. as the IceHogs take on the Texas Stars from the BMO Harris Bank Center.
The 2015 jersey auction logo was revealed at Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall, the presenting sponsor of the IceHogs Jersey Auction Night.
Immediately after the conclusion of Rockford’s contest with the Stars on March 22, the team will hold a live auction on the ice surface of the BMO, as fans can bid on the game-worn jerseys. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the IceHogs Charitable Foundation. In turn, the IceHogs Charitable Foundation will donate a portion of the jersey proceeds to The Autism Program, as well as a variety of other beneficiaries, including Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Rockford, and the Jr. IceHogs.
For this year’s Jersey Auction Night, the IceHogs are proud to partner with The Autism Program Service Center, a program of Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago - Rockford Region. The organization strives to become an inclusive, one stop, trusted resource for evidence based information on Autism Spectrum Disorders and referral services across the lifespan. The Rockford Region of TAP was established as a result of a grant from The Autism Program of Illinois and the Illinois Department of Human Services.
The 2013-14 IceHogs Jersey Auction Night raised a total of $43,795, bringing the organization’s 15-year total to $729,320 raised for charitable causes in the Rockford community. The Jersey Auction tradition started during the IceHogs’ inaugural season in 1999-2000 with their “Go Green For MDA” themed jersey.
This season Rockford is proud to sport a bold puzzle-themed uniform centered around autism awareness. In addition, the first 2,500 fans at the BMO at the March 22 game will receive a free IceHogs puzzle courtesy of the Autism Program.
Once again, thanks to Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall, one lucky fan in attendance will be chosen to have a chance to win a new car.
For tickets to the game, call 815-968-5222, visit IceHogs.com, or stop by the BMO Harris Bank Center box office or any Ticketmaster Location.
Next Home Game: Friday, Mar. 6 vs. Oklahoma City at 7 p.m. The IceHogs complete their season series with the Barons as Oklahoma City returns to the BMO for Rockford Hockey Club Night. Rockford will be recognizing youth hockey in the community by wearing specialty Rockford Hockey Club sweaters during the game.
