Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs will honor first responders when they play their 12th Annual Jersey Auction game presented by Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall.

The team will be wearing specially designed “Serve and Protect Hammy and Hammer” jerseys as they take on the Chicago Wolves at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, March 13 at the Rockford MetroCentre.

Before the IceHogs game fans have a chance to watch the Rockford area Police take on the Rockford area Fire Departments. The puck will drop at 11:30 a.m. for the Guns and Hoses Charity game. Tickets for the IceHogs game can be used for admission to the Guns and Hoses game, with doors opening at 11 a.m. Four dollars from every ticket will go to the Walter Lawson Children’s Home.

For tickets to the game call (815) 968-5222, visit icehogs.com or stop by the MetroCentre Box Office.

AudioDrive, a local rock band, will perform before the game, during the intermission and briefly after the contest.

Immediately following the game, the team will hold a live auction on the ice where fans can bid on the jerseys. All proceeds from the jersey auction go to the IceHogs Charitable Foundation and will benefit several local not for profit charities.

Rockford has held the auction in each of the team’s 11 previous seasons of professional hockey in the Forest City. Over the first 11 auctions, the IceHogs have raised more than $579,603 with all the proceeds staying in the Rockford community.

To go along with the live jersey auction, the night will also feature several silent auction items and a raffle for a customize-your-own jersey auction jersey during the game. Some items included in the silent auction are: a signed Milwaukee Admirals and Las Vegas Wranglers jersey, two Chicago White Sox signed photos, a baseball signed by former Chicago Cubs second baseman Glenn Beckert and more. The silent auction table, located on the main concourse, will be open for fans to bid on the items up until midway through the second intermission.

The first 2,500 fans to the game on March 13 will get an IceHogs Jersey Auction T-Shirt featuring the Serve and Protect Hammy and Hammer logo, presented by Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall, WXRX, Pepsi, Dental Dimensions and 13-WREX.

Oink Outfitters will be offering a special half-price discount on all IceHogs premiere jerseys. Oink Outfitters is located on the south end of the main concourse and is open during every IceHogs home game.
