IceHogs Grab Point in Shootout Loss to Stars

Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs fell 3-2 in a shootout on Sunday afternoon against the Texas Stars inside the BMO Center.
Rockford struck first for the fourth straight game while skating on a delayed penalty. Joey Anderson located a rebound after Aidan Thompson's shot from the slot and chipped it past the Stars' Remi Poirier.
Just 14 seconds into the 2nd period, Brett Seney dropped the puck for Thompson on. rush, who snapped the puck home to the far side. With the Seney assist, the Rockford captain moved into third all-time in IceHogs' points (AHL era) with 174 passing Adam Clendening.
The Stars got on the board two minutes to cut the deficit to 2-1 thanks to a Matthew Seminoff goal from the near circle that found its way past Drew Commesso.
In the late stages of the 3rd period, Texas pulled its goaltender for the extra attacker and pulled even at 2-2 with a blast from Samu Tuamaala.
After a scoreless overtime, Texas forward Cameron Hughes scored the lone goal in the shootout to lock up the 3-2 Stars' win.
