Mac Carruth and Philippe Lefebvre join the IceHogs

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Monday that the Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned goaltender Mac Carruth and forward Philippe Lefebvre (LUH-fayv) to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League from the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.

Carruth, 21, shows a record of 4-3-0 in eight games for the Walleye in 2013-14. The Jackson, Wyoming native ranks tied for seventh in the ECHL with 432 minutes played, tenth with a .927 save percentage, and has a 2.50 goals against average.

The netminder is playing in his first professional season after leading the Portland Winterhawks (WHL) to the Memorial Cup Finals last spring. Carruth was 30-7-2 with Portland a season ago with a .929 save percentage and a 2.05 goals against average.

Carruth was selected by the Blackhawks in the seventh round (#191 overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Lefebvre, 22, was acquired by the Blackhawks, along with Kris Versteeg, in a trade on Thursday, Nov. 14. The Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, native made his debut for the Walleye on Sunday. Prior to the trade, Lefebvre registered six points (2g-4a) in eight games with the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Over the past two seasons Lefebrve has played in 92 career AHL games, recording nine goals and nine assists with the Hamilton Bulldogs.
