IceHogs Earning Thrilling 6-5 Shootout Win to Topple the Wolves

Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs finished their busy weekend with a 6-5 shootout victory over the Wolves on Sunday afternoon inside the BMO Center.
The IceHogs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Martin Misiak banged in a loose puck by the back post at 7:22. Less than a minute later, Justin Robidas pick his spot passed Drew Commesso from the slot to tie the game.
Chicago took a 2-1 advantage off a power play goal from the near circle off the stick of Bradly Nadeau. The Rockford 4th line had an answer in the offensive zone. Connor Mylymok fed Dillon Boucher by the back post who slid the puck through Chicago's Amir Miftakhov.
In the 2nd period, Rem Pitlick blasted in a goal from the slot for the second-straight night to gave the Hogs a 3-2 edge. Once again though, the Wolves pounced back with Noel Gunler wiring in a wrister while cutting though the zone.
Pitlick converted his second of the night at 4:47 of the 3rd after Miftakhov gave the puck away right to the Rockford forward for a 4-3 lead. Chicago's top line went back to work and Justin Robidas converted a give-and-go with Ronan Seeley to bring the Wolves even again with ten minutes to go in regulation.
With four minutes to go, Suzuki sniped in the go-ahead goal off a clean Chicago faceoff win. Down 5-4 now, Rockford pulled the goaltender for the extra attacker. After Samuel Savoie's shot created a rebound, Cavan Fitzgerald stormed down the wing and snapped in the 5-5 tying goal.
After a scoreless overtime, Pitlick scored the lone goal in the shootout to give Rockford two points and the 6-5 win.
