Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs announced today that broadcaster Bob Mills, who has been calling IceHogs hockey since the start of the 2015-16 season, is resigning from his position with the club as he has accepted a communications role with the Purdue University Honors College. Mills will conclude his IceHogs tenure when the Hogs take on the Monsters from Cleveland on Tuesday, Oct. 31.

“We wish Bob and his family all the best as he moves on to the next chapter in his career,” said Mike Peck, IceHogs Director of Business Operations. “Bob has been a valued member of our staff here in Rockford and is well respected throughout the league.”

“I want to thank the IceHogs and the Blackhawks for allowing me this opportunity over the past two seasons,” said Mills. “I’ve greatly enjoyed my time in Rockford and I have had the pleasure to meet many terrific people since moving here in the summer of 2015. My family and I are very thankful for all the relationships we have built here in Rockford.”

Mills will continue in his role tonight against the Grand Rapids Griffins and then will close out his tenure on Tuesday against the Monsters.

Through his career, Mills has 601 games behind the mic between the AHL and ECHL levels.
