Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced that the Rockford IceHogs have recalled winger Paul Zanette from loan to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.
Zanette, 23, has been held scoreless in five games with Rockford this season, registering one shot on goal and garnering a plus/minus rating of -1.
In 26 games with Toledo, Zanette has tallied 14 points (5g-9a). The winger missed 23 games earlier in the campaign due to an injury.
The Nobleton, Ontario native made his AHL debut last season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, tallying one goal in seven regular season contests and two goals in 11 playoff tilts. Before joining Hamilton, Zanette played four seasons at Niagara University, notching 53g-52a-105pts in 128 contests. He was a Hobey Baker Memorial Award Finalist during his senior season in 2010-11.
Hogs Next Game: Wednesday, Feb. 29 vs. Abbotsford Heat. Game time is 7:05 p.m. It’s another Taco Bell Dollar Day as the IceHogs face off against the Heat for the final time in 2011-12. Fans can take advantage of one dollar beers, hot dogs, soft drinks and companion tickets. The game is the fourth and final between the two clubs and marks the return of former IceHogs All-Star defenseman Brian Connelly.
