IceHogs Bring in Pair of Goaltenders
Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs announced Friday that the team has recalled goaltender Owen Flores from the Indy Fuel. Goaltender Dryden McKay has agreed to sign a PTO with the IceHogs.
Flores is en route to Rockford from Rapid City where the Indy Fuel are playing a weekend set. The 21-year-old signed his first pro contract over the summer and is coming off of four years in the Ontario Hockey League.
The Chicago, IL native is 8-5-3 this season through 16 games with the Indy Fuel in the ECHL. The left-catching goalie has posted a 2.71 goals against average and an .895 save percentage.
McKay, 28, joins the IceHogs after splitting time between the Utah Grizzlies and the Bloomington Bison this season. Through 17 games in the ECHL, the Illinois native has earned eight victories and most recently has recorded a 2.40 GAA and .921 SVP with the Bison.
The 4th-year pro has skated in three AHL contests in his career with the Toronto Marlies and the Ontario Reign.
