IceHogs Bring in Marcus Joughin with AHL Deal
Rockford, IL. - The Rockford IceHogs and General Manager Mark Bernard announced Tuesday that the team has signed forward Marcus Joughin to a one-year AHL contract.
Joughin joined the Indy Fuel at the end of the 2025-26 regular season after turning pro, skating in 11 games and notching six points (2G, 4A). The 24-year-old also saw action in five ECHL playoff contests and pocketed four assists during the Fuel's first-round series.
"After a great college career, we are excited to add Marcus to our organization as he enters his first full season of professional hockey", said Bernard. "He had a terrific stretch at Sacred Heart University, where he played with Kevin Lombardi. Marcus will be an exciting player to watch develop.”
A native of Tecumseh, ON, Joughin spent four years at Sacred Heart and served as an alternate captain during his senior season. At the NCAA level, the left-shot forward earned 100 points (27G, 73A) in just 150 games with the Pioneers.
Prior to his collegiate career, Joughin played two years with the West Kelowna Warriors in the BCHL, along with a pair of seasons at New Hampton School in New Hampshire.
