Dec 17, 2025
Written By: Dana Grey

Rockford, IL - Rockford IceHogs' General Manager Mark Bernard announced today that forward Marcel Marcel has been released from his AHL contract as he wishes to pursue other opportunities in Europe.

"I want to thank Marcel for his contributions to our team the last three seasons and representing the IceHogs well on and off the ice. We wish him the best as he continues his career in Europe", said Bernard.

Marcel, 22, skated in 80 games with the IceHogs recording 19 points (6g,13a). A native of Plzen, CZE, the winger was selected 131st in the 5th round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.

Up next, the Hogs travel to take on the Manitoba Moose on Saturday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Canada Life Center. Rockford returns to the BMO Center on Saturday, December 27 at 7:00 p.m. The first 1,500 fans 14 and under will receive a youth jersey giveaway presented by Westside Children's Therapy. Tickets are available at icehogs.com.
