Rockford set to begin 12th season on Oct. 9 at the MetroCentre
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced the team’s 2010-11 regular season schedule on Wednesday. The IceHogs 80-game regular season will begin on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 4:35 p.m. against the Manitoba Moose at the Rockford MetroCentre and will conclude on Sunday April 10 at 3 p.m. in Chicago against the Wolves.
The upcoming slate of games includes 25 Friday and Saturday home dates at the MetroCentre, three Sunday games and 12 mid-week contests. The IceHogs will host two kids’ day games on Monday, Jan. 17 (3:05 p.m. vs. San Antonio) and Monday, Feb. 21 (2:05 p.m. vs. Peoria). They will also play a kids’ day game on the road on Thursday Dec. 2 (11:05 a.m. at Houston).
Rockford’s longest homestand spans from Wednesday, Dec. 8 through Sunday, Dec. 26 in which the IceHogs will play seven games at the MetroCentre. The team will embark on its longest road trip, a seven-game, five-city swing, from Sunday, Feb. 27 to Friday, March 11.
All Friday and Saturday games at the MetroCentre will begin at 7:05 p.m. with the exception of the season opener on Oct. 9, which starts at 4:35 p.m. All mid-week games in 2010-11 will start at 6:35 p.m. excluding the two Monday kids’ day games. Doors to the MetroCentre will open one hour prior to face off for all games.
Individual game tickets for the IceHogs 12th season of professional hockey in the Forest City will go on sale at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at the MetroCentre Box Office, on-line through www.metrocentre.com or by phone at (815) 968-5222. The MetroCentre Box Office is open from noon-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
