ROCKFORD, Ill. – The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs today announced they have agreed to terms with forward Connor Moynihan on a one-year AHL contract through the 2018-19 season.

Moynihan, 21, skated with the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for the fifth consecutive season in 2017-18, logging a career-high 42 points (21g, 21a) and leading the team with 113 penalty minutes in 66 contests. The 6-4, 209-lbs forward served as an alternate captain last season and ranked eighth overall in the league and third among QMJHL forwards in PIMs for the 2017-18 campaign. He also posted a career-best +16 rating on a Mooseheads team which finished third in all of the QMJHL with 93 points.

Following the regular season, the Windham, New Hampshire native helped Halifax advanced to the second round of the playoffs by notching seven points (4g, 3a) and a team-high 22 penalty minutes in nine postseason contests.

Overall, Moynihan has totaled 133 points (68g, 65a) and 470 PIMs in 310 career QMJHL games from 2013-18. The forward has posted back-to-back 40-point seasons and logged 100+ PIMs in three of his last four campaigns. In addition, Moynihan has helped guide Halifax to the postseason in four of his five seasons with the team, combining for six goals, six assists and 57 PIMs in 41 career playoff contests. That span includes an appearance in the semifinals during his first season with the club in 2013-14.

Moynihan was named to the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game in 2014 and received an invite to the Chicago Blackhawks Development Camp this offseason from July 16-20 at MB Ice Arena.
