Rockford, IL. - The Rockford IceHogs and General Manager Mark Bernard announced Wednesday that the team has signed goaltender Thomas Gale to a one-year AHL contract.

Gale played his first full professional season last year, suiting up for 13 games with the Worcester Railers in the ECHL. The Kirkland, QC native had a 5-6-0 record with a 2.62 goals against average and .909 save percentage.

“We are excited to bring in Thomas to the fold", said Bernard. "He adds to the already strong organizational depth that we have at the goaltending position. We look forward to watching him continue to make strides in his young pro career."

At 26 years old, Gale joins the IceHogs after playing 15 games in the ECHL over the last two seasons. He made his professional debut with the Wheeling Nailers in March of 2025 following his collegiate career.

The left-catching goalie spent four years at the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. Over his time with the Crusaders, Gale manned the net for 83 games, earned five shutouts and held a 2.41 goals against average to go along with his .917 save percentage.

During his senior season, the 6'1 goalie was a Hobey Baker nominee and was also named a semifinalist for the Mike Richter Award, which honors the top goalie in NCAA Division I.

Gale spent a pair of years in the USPHL between the Junior Bruins and Junior Islanders. He was a member of Deerfield Academy for three seasons at the high school ranks.
