Week 5 Recap:
Divisional matchups have been no simple task this season for the Rockford IceHogs. Despite an overall 5-4-0-1 record heading into the weekend, the Hogs owned just a 1-3-0-1 record against teams from the Midwest division. The Hogs had no twist of fate during Week 5 and were unable to pick-up any points in the standings as they dropped a pair of contests to Grand Rapids and Milwaukee.
Hot Hog: Week 5
Brandon Saad, Left Wing
After missing seven games due to injury, rookie winger Brandon Saad registered points in his first two games back. On Friday night in Grand Rapids, Saad tallied his first career professional goal when he notched a breakaway marker in the first period against the Griffins. He followed his first pro goal with his first pro assist on Saturday in Rockford’s 4-2 loss at home against the Milwaukee Admirals.
