IACOPELLI, PELLETIER SIGN WITH ROCKFORD

Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs announced today that they have signed Matheson Iacopelli and William Pelletier to amateur tryout contracts (ATO). Iacopelli has also agreed to terms with the Chicago Blackhawks on a two-year contract that begins next season and runs through the 2018-19 campaign.
Iacopelli, 22, recently finished his second season at Western Michigan University where he posted 20g-16a-36pts in 40 games for the Broncos. He concluded the season ranked first among Western Michigan skaters and fourth in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference in goals for the 2016-17 campaign.
The Brownstown, Michigan native has totaled 21g-22a-43pts in 67 games through two seasons with the Broncos. The 6-3, 206-pound forward was a two-time NCHC Player of the Week award winner and was named the NCHC Player of the Month for November this season after compiling 7g-4a-11pts in six contests.
Prior to his collegiate career, Iacopelli spent two seasons with the United States Hockey League's Muskegon Lumberjacks where he registered 100 points (64G, 36A) in 114 games.
Pelletier, 24, helped lead the Norwich Cadets to an NCAA Division III National Championship this season after collecting 18g-28a-46pts in 23 games as an alternate captain. He paced the team and ranked fourth in the nation in points, and finished second among Norwich players and tied for sixth among all skaters in assists this year.
The Quebec City, Canada native was a two-time alternative captain with Norwich and concluded his four-year career with 53g-73a-126pts in 83 games with the Cadets. Pelletier was also named the NCAA III (Eastern College Athletic Conference) East Player of the Year during his sophomore season after collecting 23g-16a-39pts in 41 games in 2014-15.
Next Home Game: Friday, March 31 vs. Texas Stars, 7 p.m. The IceHogs host the Texas Stars for the fourth and final meeting of the 2016-17 season. The first 1,500 fans to enter the BMO Harris Bank Center will receive an IceHogs beach towel courtesy of Peak Fitness. It's also a Blues Flame Friday pregame party presented by District Bar & Grill. Doors to the Blue Flame Lounge on the main concourse open at 5:15 p.m. for the pregame festivities. Fans 21-and-older are invited to enjoy live music from Recently Paroled, a happy hour special and free appetizers at the Blue Flame Lounge.
