HUTTON SHUTS OUT WOLVES FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

Vs CHI Bollig
Rockford, Ill- Since signing a new contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday, Carter Hutton has earned three wins in as many nights and also nabbed his second shutout of the season on Sunday as the Rockford IceHogs snatched a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Wolves at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

Hutton turned away all 29 Wolves shots through three periods of regulation and 4:38 of overtime. The IceHogs netminder has 13 wins on the campaign and has only given up three goals in his last three starts for a goals against average of 0.95 and a .961 save percentage.

For the second night in a row, the IceHogs needed extra hockey to notch a win, but unlike Saturday’s contest versus Milwaukee that went into a shootout, Rockford was able to get it done in overtime versus the Wolves.

With just 21 seconds left in the extra frame, Jeremy Morin drove hard to the Chicago net, made a quick move, and slipped the puck past Eddie Lack for his 12th goal of the season, giving the IceHogs the 1-0 win. Lack made 40 saves in the loss.

Rockford’s penalty kill unit came up big, shutting down eight Chicago man-advantage opportunities. In the month of February, the IceHogs have killed off 48 of 51 penalties against, a 94.0% conversion rate.

The IceHogs went 0-for-5 on their power play chances on Sunday.
