The 14th Annual Chicago Blackhawk Charities Holiday Hockey Classic presented by Coca-Cola, is scheduled for Wednesday, December 26th through Saturday, December 29th at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville.

The puck drops on this year’s tournament at 8:00 a.m. on the 26th when Fremd meets Loyola Maroon who are among the premier high school programs from Chicagoland and the Midwest region competing in this year’s event.

The 2007 Chicago Blackhawk Charities Holiday Hockey Classic presented by Coca-Cola boasts a competitive field including the defending champions from New Trier Green. One of the most attractive matchups of the opening day of competition features New Trier Green against Fenwick, two teams who are annually among the top teams in the Chicagoland area. Also in the field are the defending Blackhawk Cup champions from Glenbrook North and Christian Brothers College High School of St. Louis, Missouri who have won the Holiday Hockey Classic two of the last three years.

The field of teams narrows down to the “Elite 8” on Friday when the winners from the Hull and Esposito divisions battle the winners and second place finishers in the Mikita, Hall and Savard divisions. Semi –finals start early on Saturday, December 29 (8:10 a.m.), with the Championship game that same day at 4:25 p.m.

The 14th Annual Chicago Blackhawk Charities Holiday Hockey Classic presented by Coca-Cola is supported by Comcast SportsNet and AthletiCo. Tickets are available only at the door the day of the events. Admission on a full day pass for adults is $20 and $15 for students/seniors. Daily passes cost $7 for adults and $5 for students/seniors.

All proceeds from the Holiday Hockey Tournament benefit Chicago Blackhawk Charities which supports underprivileged and abused children, individuals suffering from physical disabilities and the development of health and fitness through youth hockey. Chicago Blackhawk Charities has provided grants to such organizations as the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI), the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) and the American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association.
