Give back to the Rockford community and catch an IceHogs game
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, proud members of the American Hockey League and top affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, are teaming up with several Rock River Valley organizations to help deserving families during the upcoming holiday season.
Starting with the Wednesday, Nov. 12 game against the Milwaukee Admirals and ending with the game against the Houston Aeros on Friday, Dec. 20, the IceHogs will accept non-perishable food items at the MetroCentre Box Office to distribute to local food pantries. IceHogs fans can get $4 off of a single ticket for that night’s game for every item that is brought in on the day of the game (limit one discount per ticket).
The Rockford Hockey Club will join the IceHogs to collect food from Nov. 12 to Nov. 22 for the Rockford Rescue Mission. After that date, all items will be given to the Salvation Army’s Food for the Needy program.
Frito Lay will help promote the event by collecting cans outside the arena on Nov. 21. Turn in a non-parishable food item to the Frito Lay truck and get a coupon for a $4 ticket to that game. Also look for the Frito Lay truck at local grocery stores throughout the holiday season.
Additionally, the IceHogs will also offer a $4 discount from Friday, Nov. 21 game against the Peoria Rivermen to the Saturday, Dec. 13 game against the Iowa Chops to any fan who brings a new toy to donate to the U.S. Marines’ Toys for Tots program.
