Brookbank suspended by the AHL for tonight’s game
Cleveland, Ohio- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Friday that the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League have signed winger Andrew Sarauer (SAHR) to a PTO. In addition, defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin has been loaned by the Blackhawks to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.
Sarauer has appeared in 46 games with the ECHL’s Reading Royals and ranks second on the team with 43 points. The 6-4 winger also has 14g-29a assists on the campaign.
The Outlook, Sask. native has 18 games of AHL experience under his belt with the Lake Erie Monsters and Norfolk Admirals during his 2008-09 rookie season. Sarauer skated in 15 games with the Monsters and registered a goal and an assist in his stint with Lake Erie.
Danis-Pepin has played in 23 games with Rockford this season and has amassed a goal and three assists. In 22 games with the Walleye, the second-year d-man has 2g-8a-10pts.
The AHL also announced today that IceHogs defenseman Wade Brookbank has been suspended for one (1) game as a result of his actions in a game at Houston on Mar. 2.
Brookbank was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline).
Brookbank will miss Rockford’s game tonight (Mar. 4) at Lake Erie.
