Rockford still stuck in a rut, get Milwaukee for a pair this week

Week 20 Recap
Week 20 didn’t provide any relief for the Rockford IceHogs and the American Hockey League club is now stuck in an eight game winless streak (0-6-1-1). The week was highlighted by the club’s third sell-out of the season on Saturday in Chicago and a shootout point on Friday versus Quad City.

Bacon Bits:

-Rockford played in front of its third sell-out of the season on Saturday

-Saturday’s crowd was the largest of the season as the Hogs drew 6,616 and the 9th largest all-time in Rockford’s nine seasons

-The IceHogs are currently stuck in a season low eight game winless streak (0-6-1-1)

-Center Martin St. Pierre has been held pointless in three straight AHL games for the first time since the 2005-06 season from 3/24/06-3/29/06

-Including Sunday night’s game in Milwaukee, the IceHogs play the Admirals four straight times and seven out of their next 15 games

-Rockford is 11-5-3-1 against the West Division on the road

-Rockford is 6-7-0-2 against the West Division at home

-Goalie Mike Brodeur became the 15th IceHogs player to get recalled to the Blackhawks this season

-Friday’s shootout against Quad City marked the 18th time this season in which the IceHogs have played extra hockey

-The IceHogs aren’t scheduled to play this Saturday, only the third Saturday this season in which the IceHogs won’t play

-Rockford lost defenseman Danny Richmond for the season after Richmond sustained an injury to his spleen on Saturday against Chicago.

Hot Hog Week 20:
One of the few bright spots in a week in which Rockford picked up one standing point, center Colin Fraser had three points in the IceHogs three games. Fraser had a goal and an assist in Friday’s shootout loss to Quad City and an assist on Saturday against the Wolves.

Upcoming Games:
Friday, Feb. 22 at Milwaukee Admirals. Game time on Friday is 7 p.m. The IceHogs return to the ice after a five-day layoff. The game is the second in a stretch in which the IceHogs face off against the Admirals four straight games. Rockford will try to snap out of its eight game winless streak.

Sunday, Feb. 24 vs. Milwaukee Admirals. Game time is 4:05 p.m. The IceHogs match-up with the Admirals for a third straight time on Sunday The first 1,000 fans to the game will pick up IceHogs poster #3 courtesy of Pepsi, MedicineMan and Johnson Press.

The IceHogs Broadcasting Network:
Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular and post-season games on the Hogs flagship radio station Rockford’s Voice, WNTA-AM 1330 and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380-AM, WTJK. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with the B2 Networks! Visit the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the “click here to watch the game live” icon, and for just $6, you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. Also, fans with Insight Cable television can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season. The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 30 minutes before the puck drops. Hog Talk Returns This Week At Cousin’s Bar and Grill:
Bud Light Hog Talk returns tonight at Cousin’s Bar and Grill! The show runs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and is hosted by Jim Stone and Double T. Tonight’s show will feature IceHogs center Martin St. Pierre and defenseman Prestin Ryan. IceHogs Assistant Coach Ted Dent will also be on hand. Come out to Cousin’s to enjoy some great food and Bud Light specials. If you can’t make it out to Cousin’s you can listen live on 1330AM WNTA.

Where to Watch the IceHogs:
IceHogs fans can now catch every IceHogs regular season game live on TV! Every IceHogs home game during the 2007-08 season can be viewed on Insight Cable Channel-57.
