HOGS PICK UP FOUR OF SIX POINTS IN WEEK 11

Week 11 Recap
The Rockford IceHogs won two-of-three contests in Week 11 after going 1-0-1-1 the previous week. The IceHogs are now 3-1-1-1 in their seven-game homestand with one home game remaining. Rockford improved to 4-1-1-2 in December. Week 12 features the IceHogs last home game in a season-long seven-game homestand against Milwaukee.

Bacon Bits:
-Rookie forward Peter LeBlanc extended his goal scoring streak to four straight games, with the overtime game winning goal in Rockford’s 2-1 win on Saturday

-LeBlanc has now recorded six points (5g-1a) in six games for the IceHogs since being recalled from the Toledo Walleye on Dec. 6

-Prior to Saturday’s game, the Hogs were 0-5-0-2 when tied after two periods of play

-The IceHogs won their first contest after being tied heading into the final frame on Saturday

-Rockford is 3-1-1-1 after six games in their season-long seven-game homestand

-Center Jeff Taffe saw his team season-high seven-game point streak come to an end after being held scoreless on Saturday

-Taffe accumulated 10 points (4g-6a) during his hot stretch

-Rockford’s penalty kill unit was successful during week 11, killing off 9-of-10 penalties (90%)

-Rockford has already matched a season-high four wins (4-1-1-2) in the month of December with two games left

Hot Hog Week 11:
Peter LeBlanc Center
Rookie center Peter LeBlanc extended his team-high goal scoring streak to four games after adding a marker in all three of Rockford’s contests in Week 11. LeBlanc helped propel Rockford over Chicago on Friday when he chipped in a goal and an assist in the IceHogs 3-2 win. Then he followed it up on Saturday with the overtime game winner in Rockford’s 2-1 win against Lake Erie. The Hamilton, Ontario native has recorded six points (5g-1a) in six games for the IceHogs since being recalled from Toledo on Dec. 6.

Upcoming Games:
Sunday, Dec. 26 vs. Milwaukee Admirals: Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. Rockford returns from a seven-day Christmas break to take on the Admirals at the MetroCentre for the second time this season. The game is the third of 10 overall between the two clubs and the front end of a home-and-home series. Sunday is bring your own giveaway night as fans can exchange an unwanted Christmas gift for one brought by another fan at a table in the concourse.

No Bud Light Hog Talk Tonight At Swilligan’s Pub:

There will be no Bud Light Hog Talk tonight at Swilligan’s Pub. The show resumes on Monday, Jan. 10. Swillgan’s Pub is located in downtown Rockford at 200 North Church St. Fans can join Mike Peck from 6-7 p.m. most Monday’s as he chats with IceHogs players, coaches and front office members. Stop by and take advantage of some great food and Bud Light specials. If you can’t make it, tune into 1330 AM, WNTA.

The IceHogs Broadcasting Network:
Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular-and post-season games on the Hogs’ flagship radio station, Rockford’s Voice, WNTA-AM 1330 and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380-AM, WTJK. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with AHL Live! Visit the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the “click here to watch the AHL Live” icon, and for just $7 you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. Also, fans with Comcast Cable television in Rockford can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action at the MetroCentre this season. All Saturday home game will also be televised on My Network TV digital subchannel 17.2 along with Comcast and Charter Cable channel 16. The broadcast begins with the U.S. Cellular Pregame Show 30 minutes before the puck drops.
