Rockford, Ill. -- The Rockford IceHogs open their 2017-18 home schedule this weekend with back-to-back games against the Iowa Wild (Oct. 14) and the Milwaukee Admirals (Oct. 15). Saturday night features an IceHogs calendar giveaway, courtesy of Impact Networking, and Sunday marks the return of Touch-A-Truck and First Responders Night.
Saturday, Oct. 14 vs. Iowa Wild
Time: Puck drop is 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Opening Night: After a 4-0 victory on the road over the Cleveland Monsters, the IceHogs return to Rockford to kick off the home portion of the 2017-18 season against the Iowa Wild. Saturday’s game has the new start time of 6 p.m. and marks the first chance to see this year’s team on home ice during the regular season.
Calendar Giveaway: The first 4,000 fans through the doors will receive a free IceHogs calendar, courtesy of Impact Networking.
Sunday, Oct. 15 vs. Milwaukee Admirals
Time: Puck drop is 4 p.m. Doors open at 3 p.m.
Touch-a-Truck: Fans have the opportunity to take photos with and explore vehicles from the Rockford EMS, Fire Department and Police Department outside the BMO Harris Bank Center on Elm St. before the game from 2:30-4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
First Responders Night: The IceHogs are proud to honor First Responders during Sunday’s game. In addition to Touch-A-Truck, the event will also include a ceremonial puck drop. The puck will be delivered by a member of the Rockford Fire Department, who will rappel from the rafters to center ice.
Kids Eat Free: Fans 14-and-under can enjoy a FREE hot dog, bag of Ole' Salty's chips, and Pepsi product, courtesy of Ole Salty’s. To enjoy the free meal, kids of the qualifying age will receive a voucher upon entering the BMO Harris Bank Center which can be redeemed at select concession stands on the concourse.
Postgame Skate with the Hogs: Those in attendance can join their favorite IceHogs players for a skate on the BMO Harris Bank Center ice immediately following the game. Fans must provide their own skates, as rentals are not available. (Note: skaters can line up at the top of section 101 or at the VIP doors in the main lobby after the game.)
