DES MOINES, Iowa – The Rockford IceHogs travel to Des Moines for a Thursday night matchup against the Iowa Wild at Wells Fargo Arena.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m. and fans can tune in to all the action on Cozi TV 23.3 or Dish Network Channel 252, beginning with IceHogs Warmup at 6:30 p.m. IceHogs fans can also listen to the game at sportsfanradio1330.com or watch live at AHLlive.com (subscription required).
Matchup: The IceHogs (17-11-1-1, 2nd Central) have won each of their last two games following an overtime victory against the Wolves and shootout win against Grand Rapids.
Tomas Jurco notched two points against the Griffins and enters tonight’s game with nine points (5g, 4a) in his last nine games since Dec. 1. Fellow forward Matthew Highmore leads the Hogs in scoring against Iowa this season, totaling five goals and one assist in six contests against the Wild.
In net, a goaltender other than Jeff Glass or J.F. Berube will make the start for just the second time this season. Collin Delia made his AHL debut against Iowa on Nov. 9, while Tomkins went 4-3-0 with a 2.73 GAA in eight games with the ECHL’s Indy Fuel prior to being recalled on Wednesday.
Iowa (14-9-6-2, 3rd Central) has won just three of its last 10 games entering tonight’s contest. The Wild feature Ryan Murphy, who leads the team with six points (1g, 5a) in five games against Rockford this season, and a trio of skaters with four points apiece in six tilts with the IceHogs in Pat Cannone, Alex Grant and Cal O’Reilly.
