HOGS NORTHWARD BOUND FOR SHOWDOWN IN MILWAUKEE
Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs venture north to Milwaukee for the first time this season for a meeting with the Admirals tonight at the University of Milwaukee Panther Arena.
Game time is 7 p.m. and fans can tune in to all the action on The Justice Network 23.3 or Dish Network channel 252, beginning with IceHogs Warmup at 6:30 p.m. Fans can also listen to the game at WXRX.com or watch live at AHLlive.com. Tonight’s game can also be heard on the radio at Sports Fan 1330 AM.
Matchup: After opening the series with three games in Rockford at the BMO Harris Bank Center, the matchup shifts to Milwaukee for the next three contests. The IceHogs took the series opener, 3-2, in a shootout behind a 32-save outing by Lars Johansson, who also blocked both shots he faced in the shootout to seal the victory.
Milwaukee won the second meeting, 7-3, on Oct. 30 and then outlasted Rockford, 3-2, in a shootout in the most recent game on Nov. 25. Tyler Barnes scored his first two IceHogs goals to give Rockford an early edge.
Mark McNeill has posted a team-best three points (2G, 1A) against Milwaukee and he currently leads the IceHogs in assists (16) and points (21).
The Admirals currently sit second in the Central Division and enter the matchup with losses in four of their last five games. Milwaukee is led on offense by Vladislav Kamenev with 24 points (9G, 15A), including five points (3G, 2A) against Rockford this season.
Next Home Game: Sunday, January 8 vs. Chicago Wolves: Game time is 4 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 2,500 fans to enter the arena will receive a copy of the 2016-17 IceHogs team card set, compliments of the Rockford Register Star. The Major League Baseball’s Commissioner’s trophy, presented to the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs, will also be at the game on the BMO Harris Bank Center concourse. After the game, fans have the opportunity to participate in Skate with the Hogs on the BMO Harris Bank Center ice. Fans are required to bring their own skates as there are no rentals available.
