ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs hit the road for back-to-back games at the San Antonio Rampage, beginning with Friday’s showdown at the One ATT&T Center. The Hogs were shut out 6-0 in Rockford during the series opener on Nov. 10.
Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. and fans can tune in to all the action on Cozi TV 23.3 or Dish Network Channel 252, beginning with IceHogs Warmup at 7 p.m. IceHogs fans can also listen to the game at sportsfanradio1330.com or watch live at AHLlive.com (subscription required).
Matchup: The IceHogs (15-10-1-0, 2nd Central) won four straight games prior to snapping the streak against the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday. The Hogs have now suffered just three losses in regulation over their last 11 games and enter tonight’s contest with a 7-3-1-0 clip since Nov. 18.
Defenseman Carl Dahlstrom has scored at least one point in each of his last five games and is currently tied for second in the AHL with nine points (1g, 8a) during the month of December. He takes the ice tonight just one game shy of matching Rockford’s longest point streak of 2017-18, which was originally set by Vinnie Hinostroza back in October.
Forward Tomas Jurco also enters Friday with the AHL’s longest active goal streak. The winger has scored a goal in each of his last four games, beginning Dec. 1.
The Rampage (14-10-2-0, 4th Pacific) upended the Cleveland Monsters 4-2 last night and have notched points in three straight games. The team is led in scoring by Andrew Agozzino, who has totaled 7g-12a-19pts in 25 games this season, and center Tage Thompson, a rookie with 7g-9a-16pts in 22 contests during the 2017-18 campaign.
In net, goaltender Spencer Martin has recorded a 2.84 GAA in 17 games this year. However, Martin has won just one of his last five starts dating to Nov. 25.
