ROCKFORD Ill. – Mikhail Berdin stopped 41 shots and four different Manitoba skaters scored goals as the Moose blanked the Rockford IceHogs 4-0 Friday night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Rockford won each of its previous four games on the homestand before snapping the season-high win streak with tonight’s defeat.
Berdin was superb in net from the get-go, stopping 14 shots in the opening frame. The second-year Manitoba netminder only improved from there, turning away 17 shots in the middle frame and ultimately helping the Moose kill five Rockford power plays. Berdin finished with a season-high 41 saves en route to earning his third victory in his last four starts.
Michael Spacek netted the only goal Manitoba needed in the rout, skating across Collin Delia and wristing a shot stick-side for his second goal on the season. Spacek also picked up a helper on the Moose’s third goal to register his first multi-point game since the 2018-19 campaign.
Delia fell to 2-4-0 on the season. Defenseman Philip Holm led the IceHogs with six shots on goal.
