HOGS DEFENSEMAN BARKER RECALLED BY CHICAGO
Johansson re-assigned to Rockford
Chicago, Ill.- Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that defenseman Cam Barker has been recalled from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.
Barker has appeared in 29 games for Rockford scoring 8 goals to go along with eleven assists for 19 points with 67 penalty minutes and a +2 rating. The blue-liner leads all IceHogs defenseman in scoring and leads all AHL defenseman with 96 shots on goal.
Barker, 21, was the Blackhawks’ 1st round pick (3rd overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 36 games for the Blackhawks over the past two seasons and has posted one goal and seven assists for eight points and 44 penalty minutes.
Defenseman Magnus Johansson has been assigned to the IceHogs. Johansson, 34, is in his first professional season in North America and has appeared in 17 games with the Blackhawks this season, contributing four assists while averaging 14:43 in ice time per game. Johansson was signed as a free agent by the Blackhawks on June 4, 2007.
