Hogs Captain Tyler Sikura Reflects on Career Year and Prepares for Future

ROCKFORD, Ill. – With the official announcement of the cancellation of the 2019-20 American Hockey League regular-season and the 2020 Calder Cup Playoffs, Rockford IceHogs forward and team captain Tyler Sikura met with the media and joined broadcaster Joseph Zakrzewski via conference call to recap his season, give the players’ perspective on the season cancellation and what the offseason may look like for him and his teammates over the next few months.

With all stats and standings final as of March 12, 2020, the Rockford IceHogs finished fifth in the AHL’s Central Division with a record of 29-30-2-2 and Sikura led the club with 34 points, just five shy of his AHL career mark. Overall, the Aurora, Ontario, native registered 14 goals and 20 assists in 63 games and was the only member of the IceHogs to play in every game before the season was cancelled.
