BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Rockford IceHogs extended their point streak to four straight games with a win at San Jose last night and seek to close out their west-coast swing with a victory over the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena Saturday night.
Puck drop is 9 p.m. and fans can tune in to all the action on Cozi TV 23.3 or Dish Network Channel 252, beginning with IceHogs Warmup at 8:30 p.m. IceHogs fans can also listen to the game at or watch live at (subscription required).
Matchup: The IceHogs (21-15-1-2, T-3rd Central) have notched points in each of their last four games and will complete a sweep on their three-game California road trip with a victory tonight. Saturday’s contest marks the first-ever meeting between the Condors and IceHogs.
Forward Tyler Sikura lit the lamp for the fourth straight game last night to extend his goal steak to a season-high four straight games. The rookie winger has now potted goals in seven of his last nine appearances to lead the AHL in goal scoring over that span since Dec. 28. Fellow Hogs forward Tanner Kero has also found his stride in the IceHogs lineup as of late, combining for eight points (4g, 4a) over his last eight tilts.
Bakersfield (15-14-6-0, 8th Pacific) currently boasts points in eight of its last 10 games entering tonight’s matchup. Forwards Ty Rattie and Liro Pakarinen share the team lead with four goals over the last five games and Rattie paces all Condors skaters with six total points (4g, 2a) over that same span. In net, Laurent Brossoit has started each of the last two games and posted a 1-1-0 record with a 2.44 GAA and .915 save percentage in his outings against Texas (win) and Chicago (loss).
Next Home Game: The IceHogs take on the Bakersfield Condors on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The contest marks another Fas Fuel Winning Weekday in 2017-18. If the Hogs win, tickets from Tuesday’s game can be redeemed for a ticket of equal or lesser value to the following Fas Fuel Winning Weekdays game on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
