Rockford brings in Adam Hobson and Mickey Lang

Rockford, Ill. - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Thursday that the Rockford IceHogs have signed forwards Adam Hobson and Mickey Lang to Professional Tryouts (PTO). Rockford also signed forward Kenndal McArdle to an AHL contract.


Hobson, a Chicago Blackhawks 2005 seventh-round draft choice (#203 overall), joins Rockford after appearing in 16 tilts with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye, scoring 4g-6a-10pts. The Mission, British Columbia native played in 97 games with IceHogs from 2007-10 and tallied eight career goals and 17 assists.

Lang comes to Rockford after spending time with the CHL’s Quad City Mallards. The undrafted second-year pro has already set career-highs in goals (22), assists (25) and points (47) in 38 contests this season with the Mallards. Lang has tallied 87 career professional points (41g-46a) in 99 games, all with Quad City. The Hillsdale, N.J. native played collegiately at Division III Manhattanville College (NCAA) and notched 83 career points (47g-46a) and was an ECAC West Conference second-team honoree during the 2011-12 season.

McArdle, a 2005 first-round draft choice (#20 overall) by the Florida Panthers, tallied an assist in three tilts with the IceHogs after signing a PTO on Jan. 16. The Toronto, Ontario native previously played this season in 31 games with the ECHL’s Greenville Road Warriors, where he marked seven goals and 15 assists.

Next Home Game: Friday, Jan. 25 vs. Chicago Wolves. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Rockford and Chicago meet in an Illinois Lottery Cup matchup at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 2,500 fans to the game will pick up an IceHogs fleece blanket courtesy of OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.
