Chicago, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced Sunday that defensemen Jordan Hendry and Niklas Hjalmarsosn have been assigned to the Rockford IceHogs.

Hendry has played in all eight games with the Chicago Blackhawks, accruing four penalty minutes. Hjalmarsson has played in one game with Chicago this season, missing the last seven due to an upper body injury.

Both blue liners spent the majority of the 2007-08 season with the Rockford IceHogs. Hjalmarsson had four goals and nine assists in 46 games in Rockford. He also made his NHL debut on Feb. 28, 2008 and recorded his first NHL point, an assist on March 23, 2008, in his first professional season. Hendry played in 85 games between the IceHogs and Blackhawks in 2007-08. He made his NHL debut on Jan. 9, 2008 and scored his first career NHL goal on April 2, 2008.

Hendry is expected to play Sunday against the Chicago Wolves, while Hjalmarsson is not.
