HEWER TO JOIN HAWKS AT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

IceHogs Ambassador to help build a house in Lake County

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs Team Ambassador Oak Hewer will join Chicago Blackhawks Assistant Coach Mike Haviland and winger Kyle Beach at Habitat For Humanity in Lake County.

Hewer will assist the Lake County Habitat for Humanity at 1517 11th St. in Waukegan from 2-3 p.m.

Beach skated with the IceHogs at the end of each of the past two seasons. Last spring, the winger led Rockford with three postseason goals after leading the WHL with 52 goals while playing for the Spokane Chiefs.

Haviland was the head coach of the IceHogs during the team’s inaugural season in the American Hockey League in 2007-08. As bench boss, Haviland led the IceHogs to the West Division Finals. Haviland has been an assistant coach with the Blackhawks since the 2008-09 campaign and was on the staff that helped guide the team to the Stanley Cup last spring.
