HAWKS SWAP: BROUWER HEADS TO CHICAGO, SKILLE TO ROCKFORD
Third-year winger earns first recall of the season
Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Tuesday that the National Hockey League club has recalled winger Troy Brouwer from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Tallon also announced that winger Jack Skille was reassigned to Rockford.
Brouwer is currently skating in his third professional season. After five games in Rockford with the IceHogs, Brouwer was leading the club with 2g-6a-8pts, 20 penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating of +4.
The Delta, British Columbia native has appeared in 12 career games with Chicago, including two last season. Brouwer has one career NHL point, an assist, and seven PIMs.
Skille began the 2008-09 season with the Blackhawks. In his second full season at the professional level, Skille appeared in six games with the Blackhawks this season and contributed a goal with a -2 plus/minus rating.
The Madison native has played in 22 overall games with the Blackhawks dating back to the 2007-08 season. In 22 games, Skille has accumulated 4g-2a-6pts with Chicago. The winger played in 59 games in the AHL with Rockford last season chipping in 16g-18a-34pts.
In other IceHogs news, Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliates Mark Bernard announced that winger Adam Berti has been re-assigned to the IceHogs ECHL affiliate Fresno Falcons. In four games with Rockford this season, Berti has a goal.
Next Home Game: Friday, Oct. 24 vs. Norfolk Admirals: Game time is 7:30 p.m. The Norfolk Admirals come into the Rockford MetroCentre for the first of two straight against the IceHogs. The weekend set marks the only time during the 2008-09 regular season that the Hogs will face an Eastern Conference team at home.
