Hakkarainen Reassigned to Indy
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs today announced forward Mikael Hakkarainen has been reassigned by the Chicago Blackhawks to Rockford's ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel.
Hakkarainen, 21, made his professional debut with Rockford this season and skated in one game before being sidelined with an injury. He skated in the team’s season opener at Iowa on Oct. 4 and posted an even plus/minus rating in the Hogs’ 3-2 loss.
The Helsinki, Finland native was originally selected by Chicago in the fifth round (139th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft. He suited up with Muskegon in the United States Hockey League last season, notching 47 points (19g, 28a) in 42 games during the regular season and leading the team with four goals in nine playoff contests.
