Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Saturday that the Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned goalie Alec Richards to the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Richards, 22, picked up the win for the Hogs in Friday night’s 2-1 victory over Grand Rapids for the second time a week. The rookie net minder stopped 33 shots.
The Robbinsdale, Minn. native has appeared in three games for the IceHogs in 2009-10 with a .929 save percentage and a 2.02 goals against average.
He has skated in nine games with Toledo during his first professional season, carrying a 5-1-0-3 record in 2009-10 with a .909 save percentage and a 2.78 goals against average.
