Center joins the IceHogs in Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids, Mich.-The Chicago Blackhawks announced that they have reassigned center David Gilbert from the Toledo Walleye (ECHL) to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Gilbert has played in seven games with the Walleye in 2011-12 and ranks second on the team in scoring with six points. The center leads the Walleye with five assists.
Chicago’s seventh round selection (209th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Gilbert has played in six total games with Rockford at the end of the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons. During his short stint with the IceHogs, Gilbert has two goals and two assists.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Nov. 12 vs. Peoria: The IceHogs host Peoria for the second time in 2011-12 for another Illinois Lottery Cup tilt. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. It’s also Heritage Night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Before the IceHogs take on the Rivermen, there will be an Alumni game featuring former IceHogs skaters against former Blackhawks. The Alumni game will begin at 4 p.m. Special throwback jerseys will be worn by the alumni and current IceHogs and auctioned off after the game.
