GILBERT REASSIGNED TO ROCKFORD

Rockford, Ill. - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Monday that the Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned David Gilbert from the CHL’s Bloomington Blaze to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

The 21-year-old forward has appeared in 29 contests for the Blaze this season, notching 13 goals and 10 assists.

During the 2011-12 campaign, the Chateauguay, Quebec native split time between the Rockford IceHogs and the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye. While with Rockford, Gilbert recorded five points (1g-4a) in 28 tilts.

A seventh round draft choice by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL draft, Gilbert has notched three goals and six assists in 34 career games with the IceHogs.


Next Home Game: Wednesday, Jan. 9 vs. Grand Rapids. Puck drop is 7:05 p.m. After four straight contests in Grand Rapids, the IceHogs and Griffins finally meet in Rockford. Wednesday is another WXRX Dollar Day as fans can take advantage of dollar beers, hot dogs, soft drinks and companion tickets.
