IceHogs Stumble in Third Period, Fall to Bears 4-1
Rockford, IL- The Rockford IceHogs fell 4-1 to the Hershey Bears Friday night inside the BMO center.
The teams would wait until the middle period to open the scoring when Joey Anderson converted on the power play at 13:21of the second period. Hersey responded when Sonny Milano picked up a power play at 18:22 of the period.
The Bears would take the lead just 1:51 into the third period with Andrew Cristall finding the back of the net on a 2-on-1 rush. Hershey goalie Garin Bjorklund denied Dominic Toninato on a short-handed breakaway to preserve the Hersey lead.
Ilya Protas would extend the lead at 17:03 with a power play tally for his 21st goal of the season. Cristall would tally an empty net goal to give the Bears a 4-1 victory.
