Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs capped off an undefeated preseason, beating the Milwaukee Admirals 3-2 on Monday afternoon in the BMO Center. 

With the IceHogs hosting local students for their annual School Day Game, the energy inside the BMO Center was sky-high to begin the day. The Admirals capitalized on an early opportunity in the first period, where a jam in front of the crease allowed Oasiz Wiesblatt to tip in the puck for a 1-0 Milwaukee lead. 

Rockford responded right away when Kevin Lombardi positioned himself off of a rebound to knot the game at 1-1 at the 4:41 mark of the first period.

The Admirals capitalized on a power play shortly after, and a Felix Nilsson goal pushed Milwaukee ahead going into the second period. 

Harrison Israels evened things back up halfway through the second on a broken play in front of the Milwaukee net. 

Overtime felt inevitable in the waning seconds of the third period, until Jake Furlong fired a top-shelf laser with only 14 seconds remaining to give the IceHogs a 3-2 win. 

Drew Commesso secured the victory for Rockford, making 30 saves.
