FAN FEST TO KICK OFF ICEHOGS 2010-11 REGULAR SEASON
Fans can win Blackhawks tickets at the free event before season opener
Rockford, Ill.- With the beginning of the 2010-11 regular season just a couple of weeks away, the Rockford IceHogs announced on Wednesday details for the team’s Fan Fest that will be held before their season opener on Saturday, Oct. 9. The IceHogs begin the season against the Manitoba Moose at the Rockford MetroCentre starting at 4:35 p.m.
The Fan Fest will start at 1 p.m. and will run until 4 p.m., taking place on the Main St. block between Elm St. and State St. The event is free and open to the public. Fan Fest is sponsored by U.S. Cellular, the Illinois Pork Producers Association, Pepsi and WNTA.
The Illinois Pork Producers Association will provide free pork sliders and Pepsi will have free samples of Pepsi Max available. Other food and refreshments will also be offered at the Fan Fest..
Jeff Randall and the Sunday Best will perform a free concert on the Fan Fest grounds from 2-3:30 p.m. and Oak Ridge Ranch will bring out activities for the kids.
As a part of the IceHogs 2010-11 bobblehead series, fans will have an opportunity to vote for the third bobblehead in the three-player set. The third and final bobblehead giveaway is slated for Saturday, March 19 and fans can vote for their choice at the U.S. Cellular Mobile Tour Experience. Candidates for the bobblehead will be announced the week before opening night.
Doors to the IceHogs-Moose regular season opener will open at 3:30 p.m. The first 5,000 fans to pass through the turnstiles will receive an IceHogs magnet schedule. Following the game, fans will be invited to stick around to watch the pregame ceremonies live from the United Center on the MetroCentre’s big screen as the Blackhawks raise their 2010 Stanley Cup Championship banner and receive their championship rings. Fans can also participate in an open skate on the MetroCentre ice.
Individual game tickets are now on sale by calling (815) 968-5222, on-line at www.metrocentre.com or in person at the MetroCentre Box Office. The Box Office is open from noon-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
