ETIENNE MARCOUX SIGNED TO PTO
ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs announced today that they have signed goaltender Etienne Marcoux to a Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement.
Marcoux, 24, began the 2017-18 season with Rockford's ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel, but had not yet appeared in a game. The 6-0, 155 lbs. netminder spent the last two seasons (2015-17) with the University of New Brunswick (AUS) where he compiled a 31-4-0 record with a 1.86 GAA and .915 save percentage in 36 games.
A native of La Plaine, Quebec, Marcoux split the 2014-15 season between the Utah Grizzlies and Rapid City Rush in the ECHL. In nine professional games, he has posted a 2-5-1 record with a .910 save percentage and 3.22 GAA.
Prior to joining the professional ranks, Marcoux played five seasons (2009-14) with the Montreal Juniors and Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in the QMJHL. He led the league with a .913 save percentage in 2012-13 while earning a selection to the QMJHL Second All-Star Team.
