EIGHT 07-08 HOGS INVITED TO HAWKS PROSPECT CAMP

Rockford, Ill.- Eight members of the 2007-08 Rockford IceHogs team have been invited to the Chicago Blackhawks 2008 Prospects Camp. The week-long event begins Monday, July 7 at Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, the Blackhawks practice facility.

The
camp roster (subject to change) of 50 invitees will be highlighted by 2008 NHL Entry Draft selections Kyle Beach (11th overall) and Shawn Lalonde (68th overall); 2007 Draft picks Bill Sweatt (38th overall) and Akim Aliu (56th overall); 2006 Draft choice Igor Makarov (33rd overall); 2005 Draft picks Dan Bertram (54th overall) and Nathan Davis (113th overall); and Finnish goalie prospect Antti Niemi. Evan Brophey, Mike Brodeur, Adam Hobson and Adam Berti have also been asked to the camp.

The camp will kick off with strength and conditioning testing for all attendees followed by an afternoon skate from approximately noon to 4 p.m. on Monday.

From Tuesday, July 8, through Friday, July 11, the pros will have an on-ice workout from 10–11 a.m., while the two groups of prospects will have their respective on-ice and off-ice workouts simultaneously from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., followed by a prospect scrimmage from 12:30–2 p.m.
